NEXT Architects & Melkwegbridge

NEXT architects is an amsterdam-based firm. As part of a team of nine other Dutch and Chinese architecture offices, NEXT architects have been working for the last year on a project for affordable housing for VANKE. By the way, VANKE is also one of our long-term partner. We created architectural visualization and architectural animation, even digital sand table for them.  NEXT architects designed a project-melkwegbridge which is a continuation of melkweg, which is part of the kanaalsprong master plan and connects the weidevenne district to the historical city centre of purmerend, in the netherlands. To conform to the angle of inclination requirements with regards to bicycle and wheelchair traffic, a length of over 100 meters was needed. To solve this challenge the paths were separated into two, one for pedestrians and the other for cycling. Citizens cross the canal by a high arch which reaches a total height of over 12 meters creating a connection between the old and new districts making the bridge  more than just the fastest possible crossing, it becomes an end and an attraction.
Because pedestrian and bicycle traffic are separated, the footbridge can continue the direct line of the melkweg in the direction of the centre.
The cycling bridge coils over the water to create sufficient length to limit the angle of inclination of the path.

Remote 3D Visualization

At CIMdata, our research into remote 3D visualization and virtualization technology has shown that their benefits are real. Data access and security issues can be addressed by leveraging remote 3D visualization technology. The latest iterations of virtualization allow predictable, scalable computer performance to be distributed efficiently for the 3D rendering and visualization of large graphical data sets. Upcoming enhancements in graphics-processing unit (GPU) virtualization will make the technology even more cost effective and flexible.

“A picture is worth a thousand words.” That old phrase is as true today as it ever was. Pictures (i.e., those with heavy graphical content) are still too large to easily transfer using the Internet or company wide area networks (WANs). Historically, high-powered desktop computers with dedicated 3D graphics hardware have been required to support data creation and modification. In addition, due to large file sizes, the 3D data needed to be on the local network, since opening the files from remote servers was too time-consuming.

Over the last few decades, businesses have become much more global. Medium-sized and even small businesses are able to leverage resources around the globe due to advances in transportation, logistics, computing, and communication technologies. “Design Anywhere, Build Anywhere” has become an important strategy to take advantage of distributed resources for delivering better products faster and at lower cost. To execute this strategy, the right data and applications have to be accessible to the right people at the right time, independent of where the people are located.

Oakridge Centre illustrations (First Part)

Vancouverites got their first look at the new Oakridge Centre last week, an ambitious intend to shave first shopping center of the town and replace it with a mini city townhouses and condo towers designed to hold more than 7,000 people.

Nearby residents have made no secret of their dislike to see a forest condo towers pierce their quiet suburb for years. This could explain why the Oakridge Centre illustrations, NIMBYites were simply wiped out of existence.

Despite being only 10 minutes from downtown, in a neighborhood perched over 11,000 people and sandwiched between two of the busiest streets of Vancouver, the megaproject has been described in a quiet leafy trees and asphalt empty.

After all, in the words of the American architect Rudolph Paul, writing in a book 1997 illustration "engaged the architect in exploring the ideal worlds of the imagination."

Even before its downtown Toronto skyscraper dotted, Vancouver has built bridges between its inputs and Montreal built a paradise in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, architectural illustrators were on hand to show everyone how it is. this hidden class of artists are not just picturemakers. Qualified computing and versed in the art of handling, these invisible and unknown artists can have more influence on the shape of Canada "Cities we know.

A few years ago, said Ron Love Vancouver illustrator, he went into a meeting with an architect and client tightening the first architectural rendering of a 20-storey project.

"The customer looks at the picture and said:" This is my building? '"A Love said. "The architect said proudly" yes "and the client turned and walked out."

No matter good or bad, architectural illustrations have a way to arouse emotions.

Methods of Choosing an Architect

A licensed architect can be an invaluable asset to any construction project or even a new home remodeling important. Architects not only come with the design, they also guide you through each step of the construction process, including construction supervision and ensure the contractor follows the plans.
Brief introduction if choosing architects.
1. A list of local architects that you want to interview. Ask your friends, family or business associates for recommendations. Also visit the websites of architects to see samples of their work.
2. Contact candidates for brief telephone interviews. Remember that architects are highly paid professionals, so make sure you have a list of questions. Any architect you consider hiring should take the time to answer your questions about their experience, design principles, etc., but do not expect to give their knowledge freely.
3. Refine your list of three to five best candidates, and set up a meeting with each of them. Be prepared with information on what you want to build your budget, and any questions you want to ask the architect.
4. Ask them questions when you meet them, like what is your experience in building? what do your services include? and so on.
5. Take the time to compare the best candidates carefully, ensuring that there is an adjustment of the personality as a professional.
Most of our clients are architects. We have close relationship with them on creating architectural rendering, architectural visualization and architectural animation to them. Different architects have different design style. Hope the article can help you.

Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate

China is awash with architectural inspiration ceremony Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Shu Wang jacket and an open forum on the future architecture of the developed countries is complete.

As a prelude to the ceremony, 700 national and international architects gathered in Beijing to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry in China, with a key focus on the approach to the industry boom and growth urban development in a manner that capitalizes on modern design and technology without forgetting the cultural roots.

"The success of the urbanization of China will be crucial to its economic and social development," said Thomas J. Pritzker, chairman of award sponsors. "The challenge, as urbanization throughout the world is to achieve urban growth that is consistent with local needs and culture."

However, 2002 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Glenn Murcutt has urged members of the forum to maintain cultural ties, even in their most modern developments.

"I think one of the dangers of China's modernization is forgetting the rich culture and beauty of the buildings that you had," says Murcutt. "It is very easy to simply look to the future. I think looking at the past is also extremely important to be able to integrate aspects which are not part of the present and the future. '

President of the jury of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, Lord Peter Palumbo, said Wang Shu received the highest level of recognition for his architectural ability to bring together these key elements.

"The jury saw the emergence for the first time the authentic Chinese architecture contemporary high quality," said Palumbo. "They combined all sorts of things. New and old, traditional and modern, past and future, all these issues have been beautifully combined in his work "

The discussion that its architecture and have attracted recent forum has always been the goal of Shu, and an aspect he feels should be explored and discussed in order to create a thriving industry of China and the built environment.

"What I practice is in contrast with the huge, shiny, modern, iconic architecture and powerful in the center of our cities. Seeking something that is close to the grass roots, the rights of the common people, and is linked to the traditions of the Chinese people and everyday life, "said Shu." My architecture is not shining, and sometimes even the raw air. it is quite different from the traditional architecture in China and I think it will continue to raise debates and discussions. Architectural Art

Architectural rendering has a number of requirements to be met, less commonly known as architectural art. Because reports used to present an idea, the architect seeks to convey as much information as possible. The emphasis in architectural renderings is not expressive qualities, as they are often with drawings arts. For example, many architectural renderings of the population of the 2000s, the use of shadow transparent silhouettes of human figures. In the architectural rendering, it is important to include a human figure to show the scale of the building. However, a figure opaque obscuring information on the structure of the building - where architects use shadow people to show scale, without hiding the details of the design.
